Soon, though, it became clear that "he" was in fact a she, Pappu Devar (Kamal Haasan) who not only designed the movie's sets but also masterminded the stunts. The movie follows his attempts to save the producer (K.N. Singh) from losing the studio and his chances of marrying his love interest (Waheeda Rehman) after she finds out he is not a man.
The comedy duo of Manorama and Sowcar Janaki are present in this movie as well with their trademark "kurakkodu" dialogues in between scenes. There are other comedy tracks by Cho Ramaswamy, Nagesh and others.
The music of the movie has been composed by Shankar Ganesh. Playback singers are Mohini, Seerkazhi Govindasamy, S. Janaki and L.R. Eswari. There are six songs in the movie:
